Creation of Backup Files
Desktop (Windows):
You may want to create a backup if you're having trouble with Workaware on desktop and have been instructed to delete your local files. This way any unsaved information can be recovered from your locally stored files if later you discover there was unsaved information. Or you may want to include your Workaware folder as part of your regular backup schedule to protect against data loss due to device or application failure before data can be sent to the Workaware server.
By default Workaware stores information in your Local Settings folder (which can be found by entering %LOCALAPPDATA% in File Explorer or the Run dialog).
Workaware stores all its information in a folder in there called Workaware.Desktop. It contains any forms that haven't been saved to the server as well as all locally cached information.
Backing up
- Enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Workaware.Desktop in the address bar of File Explorer or open the Run dialog (Win+R) and enter it there, then select "OK".
- Copy the contents of the folder that appears to your backup folder or media
Restoring from backup
- Enter %LOCALAPPDATA%\Workaware.Desktop in the address bar of File Explorer or open the Run dialog (Win+R) and enter it there, then select "OK".
- Copy the contents of your backup media or folder (from step #2 in "Backing up") to this folder.
